Variety selection is one of the most critical management decisions associated with all row-crop production. Factors such as soil type, planting date, irrigation capabilities, row spacing, harvest capacity, disease tolerance, and others may influence the decision of selecting an appropriate variety for profitable crop production. There are a number of excellent varieties available to choose from, across all crops. These variety suggestions are meant to serve as a condensed list of varieties that have demonstrated the ability to perform across a range of production systems and environments. The list is composed of varieties that were selected based upon overall consistence and performance in Mississippi State Official Variety Trials.
